MATTHIAS' Testimonial

  1. What is your job title and what activities are behind it?

I have been working as a Product Manager for the Tamaris brand for three years. In this role I am responsible for the procurement area Italy. Product management is primarily the interface between procurement and the manufacturing sites. However there is also frequent contact with other departments such as marketing and sales. As part of by job, I travel to Italy on a regular basis to develop new collections there. It's not just about developing the collection though. The product managers support the product through the entire product life cycle, from development through to successful retail sale.

  2. What brought you to Wortmann?

I became aware of Wortmann through a job advertisement in the Lippische Landes-Zeitung newspaper and I was immediately interested by the dual study programme (international business). An internationally-focused course coupled with regular practical phases within the company was the perfect training option for me.

  3. What makes your work special?

The fast pace constantly having to detect and introduce new trends. One important factor for me is the team collaboration that ultimately results in creating a powerful and successful collection. And the travel of course when you always gain new impressions and get to know people who you can learn a lot from.

  4. What is Wortmann like as an employer?

That's easy: The team. We work in a young, ambitious team and despite how big the company has grown to become, it still has a family feeling.

  5. If you had to describe Wortmann in three words, what would they be?

    Dynamic, unconventional, successful

  6. Tell us about a unique Wortmann experience you have had.

The three months I spent abroad in China as part of the dual study programme. During this time, I was involved in developing the collection, and was able to form my own picture of the local production. I also gained an insight into the country's culture. I met a lot of people from different countries and am still in contact with them today. All-in-all, it was an experience which I will certainly never forget.
